The delivery valve is transparent and has a narrow design that makes it easy to monitor the mask seal without obscuring the person’s face. During assisted ventilation — for example, during CPAP or spontaneous breathing with oxygen — the bag can be disconnected and the valve used independently. The narrow valve housing reduces the risk of obstruction by secretions or vomit.

The bag has minimal mechanical resistance and responds directly to hand pressure, providing better control over tidal volume and respiratory rate. The built-in handle makes ventilation easier during transport or in confined spaces — even users with small hands can hold the bag securely without straining their wrists or shoulders. A heavy bag without support can cause muscle cramps after only a few minutes of continuous ventilation, particularly during cardiac arrest, when HLR may continue for 20–30 minutes.
