Powerful haemostatic action with 100% Chitosan

Chitosan is a naturally positively charged substance that immediately attracts negatively charged red blood cells. This electrostatic reaction creates a strong, tight clot directly at the bleeding source. It works independently of the body's coagulation ability, making the dressing extremely effective.

Works in complex bleeding

Because ChitoSAM's mechanism is independent of coagulation factors, it remains effective in hypothermic patients and those receiving anticoagulants. This provides added reassurance in difficult cases where traditional methods may be less effective.

Ideal for large superficial wounds

The flat 10x10 cm format is placed directly over the bleeding source in large lacerations, avulsion injuries and groin or axillary wounds where a tourniquet cannot be used and wound packing is difficult. Secure the applied dressing with a pressure dressing.

Safe and easy to use

Open the pack, place ChitoSAM on the wound and apply firm direct pressure. The high-purity chitosan used has no known allergic reactions associated with shellfish allergy. The dressing generates no heat during application.
