Aura-i is designed to provide a tight seal in the pharynx with minimal pressure on surrounding tissue. The anatomical curvature allows the mask to follow the path of the airway and position itself correctly without requiring manipulation after insertion. The bite block is integrated into the tube and provides protection during fibre-optic intubation — a technique used when conventional intubation is difficult or contraindicated.
